How to Host Jim Wright’s Workshops as Webinars

You can order any of Jim Wright’s workshops as live webinars! In this time of budget cuts and diminished resources, webinars have significant advantages over face-to-face trainings. For example:
- Webinars require no presenter travel expenses.
- Educators can take part in workshops without needing to leave their school buildings—which is both convenient and may also help to reduce the need for classroom subs.
- The cost of webinars can be shared easily among two or more school districts or organizations.
Here are some common questions about Jim Wright’s webinars:
How long do the webinars last? The webinars are condensed versions of Jim Wright’s on-site workshops. They are typically scheduled for 2.5-3 hours, rather than as full-day trainings.
What equipment does the participant need to take part in a webinar? Each location participating in the webinar will need a live Internet connection and a speaker phone. Webinar PowerPoint slides will be displayed on participants’ computers while the speaker’s live narration is delivered via phone. If multiple participants gather in a single room to take part in a webinar, they will also require an LCD projector and screen to view the computer-delivered PowerPoint slides in large format.
What are the directions for logging into a webinar? Schools, districts, and organizations that contract with Jim Wright for a webinar are emailed specific directions for joining the webinar a week in advance.
What materials are supplied as a part of the webinars? Prior to a scheduled webinar, Jim Wright emails the workshop handout to the designated contact person for the school, district, or organization--who is responsible for sharing that document with all webinar participants. At the conclusion of the webinar, participants are also given instructions for how to access the workshop PowerPoint slides online in pdf format.
How can we get more information (e.g., availability, cost) about your webinars? If your school, district, or organization is interested in additional information about Intervention Central webinars, email Jim Wright and include ‘Webinar Request’ in the subject line. In the body of the message, give the title(s) of any of Jim Wright’s workshops that you would like information about. You can also share months or specific dates when you would like a webinar to be offered.
