East Stroudsburg Area Schools: Jim Wright's Workshops

On Thursday, 27 August 2015, Jim Wright presented a keynote address  Finding the Spark: Motivating the Struggling Student to staff from the East Stroudsburg Area School District..

Student engaged in class discussion and class work through the class period

An will improve understanding of vocabulary, grammar, contradictory statements, inferences, analogies and deductive skills, by successfully completing class assignments with 70% accuracy.

An will form 3 paragraph essay including introduction, conclusion and one body paragraph with 70% accuracy or higher measured by progress reports.

An will join her peers without being prompted to social activities instead of choosing to work independently in all her classes as observed through data collection

An will initiate conversation by asking questions or making a comment in class four out of five days per week.

An when reading text, will identify inferences in a reading passage when completing a reading comprehension assignment with 70% on 3 out of 4 opportunities.

The student controlled his emotions and did not become upset or angry when faced with challenging or difficult situations.

The student was respectful and kind to adults, students and property.

La'Danian followed directions from an adult the first time they were given.
